Junior BI Developer / Business Analyst

Candidates must be self-starters with a strong technical background along with the aptitude to learn and assist in developing business processes and systems. The candidate will be required to analyze requirements, identify technology, develop technical plans and implement solutions that will meet user and business needs. Solutions developed include generation of reports, process internal and external data sets, generate scripts that validate data against new and existing business logic. A vital skill for the position is the ability to use different commercial and open source tools in the development, support and maintenance of applications and tools used across various business processes and workflows. The candidate will have the opportunity to analyze data, identify root causes, and perform gap analysis. The candidate will work towards becoming a SME in the areas they work in. Position Responsibilities: Support and enhance application suite used within individual business functions and business processes Support and implement existing and new commercial and open sourced tools, desktop applications, reporting and business intelligence tools Participate in optimizing business systems in support of growing strategic and tactical business needs. Monitor job logs, schedules and troubleshoot, resolve issues across application suite Document technical and functional details of applications as well as corresponding user guides and cheat sheets. Provide SME on applications and tools Provide time estimates and preparing design documents, developing, coding and testing. Create reports that monitor process and software changes, which affect production support, and update/enhance systems and tools accordingly Design and develop utilities and simple user input applications in Excel, MS Access and other technologies using embedded SQL scripts Develop scripts that cleanse asset activity and billing data confirming to business rules, analyze data for patterns etc. Strong team emphasis and relationship building skills; create effective partnerships with business, shared services and other IT support areas Articulate and report issues relating to project status, conflicts/issues, and changes among the various functional entities within project teams. Collaborate with colleagues and supervisor to ensure timely and accurate assessment and communication of progress, issues and risks Conducting and participating in peer code reviews, sharing experiences, and best practices Mine and analyze data to identify root cause of issues Job Requirements Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, MIS, or related field 3-5 years of relevant work experience Strong proficiency in SQL Scripting Hand-on experience with VB Scripting in Excel and MS Access, Excel Macros, Batch Files, Data Loads Programming skills such as R, Python, .Net, a plus Data visualization and presentation, a plus Must have experience in developing standalone single and multi-user desktop database applications, that may source data from application databases and warehouses Experience in transaction processing and supply chain applications as well as formal software development methodologies preferred Experience using Business Intelligence and Analytics tools, Qlikview a plus Strong analysis, design and debugging capabilities Exposure to SDLC methodologies within software design, use cases, coding and testing Must have strong technical and problem solving skills to analyze user needs and enhance existing applications or develop new solutions Good communication skills both verbally and written Process-centric individual Transportation industry or supply chain background is a plus For immediate consideration, please send an updated resume with salary requirement to Christopher.Ciuppa@rht.com - provided by Dice

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
